About Me

I’m an atypical genealogy geek… beginning the hot-pursuit of my ancestry two decades ago when I first entered my 20s.  It was a much slower process then, slogging away in musty archives and hunched over microfilm readers at my local FHL.  Now, I’m a new “late-in-life” mama (told you, atypical) to a busy toddler and hunched over my laptop mostly as a freelance journalist and, when I have a spare moment, digging for genealogical treasure and blogging about it. I’m based in Philly these days, as many of my ancestors were in the past… so many of my posts will reflect that geographic connection. And because DNA is the newest tool at my disposal, many of my posts will nerd out about genetics as well.
